What WashU can do
By embracing its well-known moniker ‘WashU,’ the university marks a new way to distinguish itself in higher education.

Opening doors
This spring saw the graduation of the first cohort of the WashU Pledge, the bold scholarship initiative for Pell-eligible students from Missouri and southern Illinois set into motion by Chancellor Andrew Martin at his 2019 inauguration.
Global Advisory Council to elevate university’s global efforts
Chancellor Andrew D. Martin has established a Global Advisory Council to maximize the impact of Washington University in St. Louis’ global efforts in research, education, patient care, recruitment and advancement.
George and Carol Bauer Leaders Academy to develop changemakers
WashU alumnus George Bauer and his wife, Carol Bauer, of New Canaan, Conn., have made a $20 million commitment to establish and endow the Washington University in St. Louis George and Carol Bauer Leaders Academy, an innovative new initiative that places values-based leadership development at the center of the WashU experience for all students.
